Never to Old to Rock N Roll
Roger Daltrey and Sapphira Cristal, I took my 17-year-old son with me as the show was a Birthday gift for his 18th. He fought me when he was younger choosing to go more for the "Mosh Pit" types of bands. I worried that after over thirty years, they would not live up to my memories when I went to see them last night. I have camped out in parking lots and stood in lines for days to acquire some event tickets in my youth. In my High School Days, I have always followed and worshiped these two musicians. I have raised him with all the respect and musical knowledge that these two musicians deserve and turned him on to "Classic Rock" when he was born. Last night was one of the most incredible nights of my life. We shared an incredible night together and I have NEVER felt closer to him. I WAS SO WRONG!! The years have not been quite as kind to Eric but his voice and guitar skills are still most impressive. Roger Daltrey has aged very gently and his voice is still as clear and sharp as it was back in the 70's. I have always told the kids that if they could play the guitar like Eric Clapton, they could teach their entire generation what music is all about and the talents that have come before them. As these kids have grown, they have realized that I truly knew what I was talking about and their generation is truly appreciating the lyrics and music. I only wish I could freeze time and spend the remainder of my life at a show like the one we saw last night. I have such a huge, eclectic collection of music, and his friends were always telling him that I was a "Super Cool" Mom.
